| Canoe Pass Gallery is located in Steveston, overlooking the waterfront and Gulf Islands. This First Nations owned and operated gallery was opened in 1991 by Diane Larden, a member of the Coast Salish Nation. In addition to operating the gallery full-time, Diane pursues her own artwork-- producing paintings, jewellery and clothing design. Her brother, Dean Larden, is one of the other principal artists represented in the gallery. His work includes Northwest Coast jewellery, prints, and wood carvings. Hundreds of other First Nations artists from across Canada are featured in the gallery. Gallery staff can arrange for custom designs from approximately two hundred Northwest Coast artists. In addition to beautiful original artwork, jewellery and one-of-a-kind designs, gallery products include mugs, art cards, t-shirts, calendars, prints, books, silver ladles, soapstone, cedar boxes, chests, and many other affordable items.
